The glass used is highly polished 10 mm thick toughened for framed balconies , and up to 20 mm thick laminated toughened for the frameless style.
Any units that have a walk out area are made with a sub frame structure that is manufactured from steel, which is then ‘hot dip galvanised’ to a thickness of 55 microns giving a rust/corrosion proof coating that will last for years to come.
Powder coating in any colour is the final coating before installation .
For the surface we use either hard wood decking boards , or the composite boards, the latter of which is more expensive, however, the qualities are far superior.
No warping, rotting, woodworm, splinters and no need to ever paint or treat with preservative or stain. It doesn’t suffer with algae growth and can simply be washed or jet washed .
The joists that support are as a rule c24 tanalised timber and 100 % adequate for the purpose .
Integral joist hangers are already pre welded to the structure to allow the joists to be easily bolted into place.
A first floor balcony can be used as a casual out door escape to enjoy the sunshine , or as a secondary route to the garden/ patio area .
